The ninth T-20 Cricket World Cup begins: hosts USA and Canada play in the opening match

 


The ninth edition of T-20 World Cup cricket is starting in America and West Indies. America and West Indies jointly organized this World Cup. Some of the matches will be played in the US and most of the matches will be played in the West Indies. America is going to play the World Cup for the first time as the host.

The opening match between host USA and Canada will start tomorrow morning at 6:30 am Nepali time in Dallas. Canada is also going to play the World Cup for the first time. The next hosts West Indies and Papua New Guinea (PNG) will play tomorrow evening.

20 countries are participating in the World Cup this time - along with host USA and West Indies, Nepal, India, Australia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Ireland, Netherlands, Namibia, PNG, Canada, Scotland, Oman and Uganda. Each team participating in the game is classified into four groups. And each group has five teams.

Nepal is playing World Cup cricket for the second time. Earlier in 2014, Nepal played T-20 World Cup in Bangladesh. Now the World Cup is going to be played after 10 years. Nepal is in Group D with South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Bangladesh.

Nepal will play its first match against the Netherlands on Tuesday. The final match of T-20 World Cup will be held on 29th June i.e. 15th June. England is a former World Cup cricket title winning team. In the World Cup held in Australia in 2022, he won the title for the second time by defeating Pakistan in the final.
