8-march Kathmandu, 70 people have applied for the position of coach of the Nepali men's cricket team, which has been vacant since last January.
Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka said that 70 names have been received from different countries and a shortlist will be made and announced before the end of the Men's PM Cup, i.e. within the third week of Chaitra.
Secretary Khadka said that two former coaches have also applied. Their names have not been revealed. It is said that now, the coach will be called and appointed from Nepal during the PM Cup.
"The names of 70 people have been received, including some famous and experienced names," said Secretary Khadka. "We will call Nepal by the end of the PM Cup and reach an agreement, and we will provide all the information at that time.
" Earlier, it was decided not to renew the contract of Monty Desai, who had been coaching the Nepali team since January 2024. A few days later, CAN opened applications for the appointment of a coach.
