Police easily win over Lumbini in PM Cup


10 March, Kathmandu. Nepal Police Club has made a winning start in the ongoing Prime Minister's Cup Men's National Cricket Tournament in Lumbini Province. 

Police defeated Lumbini Pradesh by 87 runs at the Extratech Oval ground in Bhairahawa. Chasing a target of 250 runs set by Police, Lumbini could only score 162 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs.

 Prajwal Thapa scored the highest 72 runs, but it was not enough for the victory. Mrinal Gurung scored 30 runs. Salahuddin Khan scored 13 runs and captain Dev Khanal scored 11 runs. 

 For the Police, Sagar Dhakal took 3 wickets for 32 runs in 10 overs. Lalit Rajbanshi took 2 wickets for 23 runs in 10 overs. Dipendra Singh Airi took 2 wickets and Rashid Khan and Kushal Bhurtel took 1 wicket each. 

 Earlier, Police, who won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 249 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 50 overs. Kushal Bhurtel top-scored with 59 runs while Arif Sheikh scored 56 runs.

 For Lumbini, Ajay Chauhan took 3 wickets for 38 runs in 10 overs. Krishna Karki took 3 wickets for 40 runs in 6 overs.

 Earlier, Lumbini had defeated Koshi Pradesh in the first match.
